Alex Seton and Michelle Gearin Opening Night at the Lock-Up

Join them for the opening of Everything was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt: Alex Seaton and Double Rainbow: Michelle Gearin to celebrate the launch of these two exciting exhibitions.

Alex Seton will be presenting a series of blown glass chandeliers throughout The Lock-Up's historic cells in tribute to those made by Newcastle’s discontinued Leonora Glassworks and commonly seen within entranceways of clubs and RSLs of post-World War II Australia.

Hunter-based artist Michelle Gearin will be presenting a new body of work exploring her personal experience as an Autistic artist responding to the power of the human eye and the science of optics.

Both exhibitions feature site-specific commissions that push each of the artist's practices through the use of new and exciting mediums.
