Fanfare - Organ and Trumpet - Newcastle Music Festival

Join Christ Church Cathedral organist David Drury and trumpet player Andy Fiddes for a lunchtime concert celebrating the fanfare.

There is so much to enjoy in this beautiful city – the weather is usually crisp and clear. Don’t miss Darby Street and its world of restaurants and designer shops. The light rail and bus services will take you wherever you want to go. There are plenty of great accommodation options.

Christ Church Cathedral, one of our main venues, is only a few minutes’ walk from the ocean. Watch for whales from any beach vantage point, and the famous dolphin pod fishing off the newly refurbished Ocean Baths. Enjoy the coastal walk to Bar Beach, and lunch at Merewether Surf House. Ride a bike along the scenic Fernleigh Track. The rainforests of Glenrock Lagoon make a beautiful stopover on the way.

Stroll in tranquil Blackbutt Reserve and Hunter Wetlands Centre: enjoy a meal at the Wetlands Centre’s excellent café. Marvel at migratory waders at Stockton Sandspit as they return from their migration to Siberia and Alaska.

The Hunter Valley vineyards and beautiful Port Stephens are an hour away with fabulous dining options and scenic tours.
