The School of Yak offer guided kayak eco-tours of the Hunter Wetlands and Myall Lakes National Parks, Lake Macquarie and surrounding Newcastle waterways. You can join them for several days of overnight adventuring, a whole day or just a few hours.

Tour Options

Join The School of Yak for a guided eco tour and be rewarded with a journey through Australia's largest Coastal Estuarine Wetland. Discover the Hunter Wetlands National Park from the vantage of a kayak, and hear stories of the wetlands history, told by a guide who has sailed the oceans of the world all his life. With a recorded 200 species of birds either living or passing through the area on their annual migration, the park abounds with life all year round. Your kayak is the best method for viewing this RAMSAR listed conservation park with many areas visited being inaccessible by any other vessel. Families will enjoy the time spent together spotting plovers, oystercatchers, curlews, egrets and other shorebirds.
