Kids Summerhill Waste Management Centre Tour

Ever wondered what happens to the contents of your bin once it's emptied into the collection truck?

Get ready for a behind-the-scenes adventure of Summerhill Waste Management Centre.

The tour will depart from Wallsend Library and will include a stop at the Summerhill Education Room followed by the chance to explore a garbage truck and the landfill up close!

Here you will find out what happens to your recycling, green waste and general waste, how they process it and what they are doing to reduce the impact on the environment.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Seats are limited, bookings are essential. Each attendee, including adults, require a ticket.

Please wear enclosed shoes.
