Newcastle Mental Health Wellness Walk / Information Day
The Day is about reducing the stigma around Mental Illness.
We start with a Welcome to country by Aunty Theresa from Spiritual Waterways, then the Drumming circle "Earthen Rhythms" will start up and lead us on a short walk from Foreshore park to Queens Wharf Brewery (this walk is aimed at all abilities we will follow a concrete path and as it is a return walk people can stop and rejoin) we will have medical staff oncall all day.
When we return to Foreshore park we will have interactive stalls, there will be a Storytelling Tent (where People will tell their mental health journey and be open to questions after), the main stage where Newcastle and hunter valley folk club will perform live music, Food Trucks (Kumache Kitchen and Coffee Craving), A healing area (where you can try yoga, mindfulness and dance threapy), Raffles and a jellybean count.
And all of cause all the great servies who help those who care for person with a mental illness or those with a mental illness.
