The Hometown Holiday campaign has been developed to encourage Novocastrians to explore and re-discover their own backyard, through a campaign and competition that will see 100 people win a Hometown Holiday voucher, each worth $500, to be redeemed at participating businesses.
We are inviting businesses to become a Hometown Holiday partner via the registration process below.
Your business must:
- fit into one of the the following business categories:
- Accommodation operators
- Tours and attractions
- Food and beverage operators
- Have an active listing on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (also known as Get Connected)
- Be located within the boundaries of the CBD map
EOI’s close on Monday 28 September
The campaign will be supported by a robust media and PR campaign and participating businesses will form part of this coverage. It is an excellent opportunity to promote your business to a local audience and remind them of the hidden gems and fantastic experiences in their own backyard - then they will tell their friends and family about you, too!
Zero. Zilch. Nothing. Nada.
Every Hometown Holiday voucher that is redeemed will be funded by the campaign. Any costs above that of the voucher will be paid directly by the competition winner.
The University of Newcastle was awarded an ‘Industry Response Grant’ from City of Newcastle to undertake this campaign to stimulate the local visitor economy in the wake of COVID-19.
City of Newcastle recognises the impact on the visitor economy this year and is dedicated to exploring ways to support and grow our tourism industry with both strategic and tactical approaches.
