Led by Aboriginal cultural educators, these guided experiences invite visitors to explore some of the region's most significant cultural landscapes, from the elevated views of Mount Sugarloaf to the coastlines of Swansea Heads, the bushland surrounding Glenrock Lagoon, and the waterways of Pambalong Wetlands.

Over three hours, participants walk through Country while hearing stories, learning about local history, cultural practices, and the ways Aboriginal people have cared for these landscapes for thousands of years. Along the way, visitors are encouraged to slow down, take notice of the environment around them, and gain a deeper understanding of the places they are exploring.

Each experience includes Indigenous-inspired catering featuring native-flavoured ingredients and opportunities to connect with Country through shared conversation, reflection, and cultural knowledge.

Discover the Hunter region through Aboriginal knowledge, story and connection to Country. Mawambul Cultural Education offers guided, in Country experiences led by Aboriginal cultural educators. Over three hours, visitors explore significant cultural landscapes while learning about local history, traditional uses of native plants, cultural practices and the enduring relationship between Aboriginal people and Country. Through walking, storytelling and shared conversation, participants gain a deeper understanding of the places they visit and the knowledge that has shaped and cared for these landscapes over thousands of years. Along the way, visitors are encouraged to slow down, observe the landscape differently and connect with the stories embedded within Country, while enjoying Indigenous-inspired catering as part of the experience. Experiences begin at Mount Sugarloaf, a significant site overlooking the Hunter region, before extending to locations including Glenrock Lagoon, Swansea Heads and Pambalong Wetlands. From bushland and wetlands to coastal landscapes, each experience offers unique cultural insights and a deeper connection to place.
