Lighthouse Arts
Lighthouse Arts, an initiative of Hunter Writers' Centre, presents an exhibition space and arts trading store inside the lighthouse cottages on the iconic landmark Whibayganba-Nobbys headland. With 360-degree views, heritage buildings, and beautiful creative works by local writers and artists.
The exhibition space presents themed exhibitions throughout the year. The art trading store sells work by local creatives: art, ceramics, jewellery, cards, textiles, photographs and Hunter Writers' Centre publications, including the Newcastle Short Story and Newcastle Poetry Prize anthologies.
From Nobbys Beach, walk along Macquarie Pier and up to the lighthouse headland known as Whibayganba-Nobbys. Open 10am-4pm Sat-Sun.
The Hunter Writers' Centre is a not-for-profit organisation serving storytellers in the Hunter and beyond
Lighthouse Arts acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country that we gather upon, the Awabakal people, and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and culture.
