Christmas in Newcastle

Jingle your way into the festive spirit with Christmas in the City!  

 
This year, City of Newcastle’s spectacular 11-metre Christmas Tree will light up the heart of the city with three weekends of festive fun, live entertainment and free photos with Santa. 

The celebrations will sparkle with shimmering bells, twinkling lights, and joyful activations designed to bring the community together.  

The season kicks off with our special launch event and lighting of the tree on Friday 28 November from 5pm to 8pm. Enjoy a festive DJ, live performances, a kids’ craft station, food trucks, and Santa photos – the perfect opportunity to capture magical memories. Even your pets are welcome to join in the fun!
