New Annual -Night Flowers : Damien Frost

Night Flowers is a collection of Damien Frost's iconic and provocative works – and your invitation into the seductive theatricality of queer nightlife, where art, performance, and self-reinvention evocatively collide. Soak up the brilliance with a free glass of bubbles on arrival at Watt Space Gallery.

The original and highly acclaimed Night Flower series was shot over a decade in London by the Australian-born, London-based photographer, where Frost captured the charged intimacy of late-night dancefloors and surrounding streets. The dynamic and visceral portraits celebrate a luminous cast of nocturnal figures – costumes and gestures transform bodies into living artworks representing radical and transformative acts of identity.

As part of New Annual and developed through a residency at Watt Space Gallery, newly commissioned portraits of Newcastle's queer and alternative communities join the Night Flowers family for the very first time, where local identities are reimagined and defiantly declared.

As a celebration of place, performance and revelry, whether you're a sunrise dancefloor regular or a curious wallflower, you're bound to relish the Night Flowers' electrifying lens of self-expression.
