Stretching 6km from Nobbys Headland along to Merewether Beach, the iconic Bathers Way Walk links beaches, ocean baths, and coastal lookouts, passing kiosks, cafés, parklands, and skate parks along the way.
The Newcastle Memorial Walk is undoubtedly the jewel in this coastal adventure and can be reached via Strzelecki Lookout or by climbing the stairs above the Bar Beach carpark. This section of the walk spans 450m along the clifftops, offering sweeping ocean and city views. It was built to mark the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings.
Keep an eye out for dolphins year-round and migrating whales from May to November.
